Soap Opera Digest : BEST NEW PAIRING I KIKI AND DILLON, GH

GH has been lacking on the young love front for a long time, so it was a total breath of fresh air to see the show capitalize on the buoyant chemistry between Hayley Erin (Kiki) and Robert Palmer Watkins (Dillon) and give us “Killon”. Dating back to when Kristen Alderson held the role, there was little rooting value, nor anything aspirational (the critical ingredient for a young-love yarn), in Kiki’s dismal “romance” with Morgan. She strayed with his brother; he strayed with her mom (and her “aunt”, when Ava was playing Denise), and it was completely baffling as to why they were together when they were, save for a lack of other viable options. Dillon’s yearning for Lulu was likewise dubious (and mercifully scrapped). We were sold on Dillon and Kiki from the moment they bonded as friends, and cheered when their crackling undercurrent of attraction came to the fore in an adorable first kiss at the Nurses’ Ball. GH has wisely taken its time nurturing this appealing duo — and we’re most definitely along for the ride.
